STATUTORY DURABLE POWER OF ATTORNEY

A Durable Power of Attorney gives one or more people, the power and authority to manage your finances. This legal document names an "Agent" and outlines what authority you have given an Agent. The legal authority for this document is established by the Texas Legislature for designating an agent empowered to take certain actions regarding property and finances. “Durable” means that the Power of Attorney is still valid even if you later become disable. Texas Probate Code Section 490 describes this Power of Attorney.

HEALTH CARE POWER OF ATTORNEY

A Health Care Power of Attorney appoints a health care "Agent" and allows that Agent to make health care and medical decisions on your behalf in the event of your incapacity. This legal document allows your agent to discuss treatment options with your doctor and allows your agent to give permission for medical treatment. The legal authority for this document is established by the Texas Legislature for designating an agent empowered to take certain actions regarding health care and medical decisions and described in the Texas Health and Safety Code Sections 166.163 and 166.164.

DIRECTIVE TO PHYSICIANS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS

A Directive to Physicians, Family and Friends instructs the medical facility and staff whether you want your life sustained if it becomes improbable that you will regain quality of life, This document is also known as a “Living Will” or “Advance Directive.” The legal authority for this document is established by the Texas Legislature for designating an agent empowered to take certain actions regarding health care and medical decisions and described in Texas Health and Safety Code Section 166.033.

LIMITED POWERS OF ATTORNEY

Appointment of an Agent to Control Disposition of Remains - The legal authority for this document is established by the Texas Legislature for designating an agent empowered to take certain actions regarding the funeral arrangements and described in Texas Health and Safety Code Section 711.002.
